NEWS from Lisa: What/When/Where
What a month of special events and new opportunities October brought with it:
Despite heavy rain, Sculptures in the Garden 2022 at Rosby Estate, was a great start to the month. There was a huge turnout of people travelling from far and wide to see a great variety of small to very large and impressive sculptures. I was overjoyed to sell both my exhibited works on opening night and receive commissions for a few more. Thanks to the friends who came out to see this annual Mudgee event. Can’t wait to go again next year!
Mid October saw another lovely Australian Design Centre, Maker’s Market on a gloriously sunny day. Thanks to Helen Kundicevic and Tracey Wigg for joining the Bakehouse Studio stall this year.
At the end of October, I was also excited to be chosen as a finalist in this year’s Greenway Art Prize which opened last Friday night and continues till November 13th. I’ll be there from 12-4pm on Wednesday, November 9th. Hope you can make it along to enjoy not only the art, but the wonderful space and historic vehicles in the Sydney Bus Museum
And now it’s November, with many more events and exhibitions continuing in the run up to Christmas:
First up is Festival of Natives, Gang Gang Gallery, Lithgow, in which I am very happy to be exhibiting for the first time, for a special event to be opened by celebrated contemporary artist Lucy Culliton on Thursday November 3rd. This exhibition continues till November 13. Find out more here.
On November 6th, 10am -5pm, the Sydney Ceramics Market debut event to support local, independent, Sydney and NSW makers will be held upstairs at Tramsheds in Annandale. Look out for my latest, large, totem commission at the entrance and enjoy a feast of locally made ceramics.
Over the weekend of the 12th and 13th of November from 10am – 4pm the Bakehouse Studio is very happy to be part of the Australian Ceramics Open Studios trail – a huge, national event, organised by The Australian Ceramics Association. It has been really lovely getting to know other ceramic studios in our local area who are also participating in this event and working together to promote it.
