NEWS from Lisa: Warming Up and Cooling Down in the Studio
A hot year of ceramic art has arrived already as I insulate within the cool of the Bakehouse Studio working busily on a Brigitte Bardot - inspired sculpture commission, ceramic props for a t.v. shoot, exhibition applications and plans.
I’m also experimenting with metamorphic forms meandering between the botanical and figurative by breaking my original maquettes into pieces and putting them back together. Stay posted to see how the Venus maquette sculpture pictured below gets deconstructed and recomposed.
Exhibitions:
Over the next couple of months you can see some of my work in the following exhibitions:
Joy Crackpot Gallery, Freshwater, February 3 –28
Ave Mardi Gras: Mother Abyss Gallery Lowe and Lee, Newtown, February 16 – March 3
Eco Echo Gallery Lowe and Lee, Newtown, Mar 8 – April 13
Inspire & Evolve: Celebrating International Womens’ Day – CBD Gallery, Sydney, March 7 – April 7
The first Totem Workshop for the year ended last weekend with a fabulous group of participants creating some amazing sculptural forms. Eager to hone their skills there are a few who have already booked into one of the more advanced totem workshops to create more complex floral, fungi and coral forms.
The next Totem I workshop starts on March 2nd running for three consecutive Saturdays and is already filling fast. There is also just one place left for the Totems ll Workshop this coming Saturday, February 3rd and 10th, which will focus on more complex and botanically inspired Australian native forms.
Check out all the upcoming workshops from January – August here
Please also take note our new Thursday evening Open Studio time and Clay Synergy Studio Membership offer below.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Bakehouse Studio soon!
