NEWS from Lisa: Marching into April 2022
Marching into April this year I’ve been making and exhibiting for Artisans in the Gardens. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s still time this weekend. Join me for some bubbles on Sunday from 2-4pm if you’re in town and looking for a joyful experience. There’s lots of great work to see and don’t worry, there is a marquee to keep you dry!
This exhibition, I’m happy to say, has been very successful and leads to some new commissions. It also holds the seeds of a solo exhibition later in the year featuring my current obsession with Sunflowers and Storm Birds.
March also saw a three part Totem workshop (pictured below) with a lovely group of creatives, producing some great work. This popular workshop will be held again in August. You can book a place here
Upcoming workshops with places still available include Bees, Jugs, Birds and Sake Set. Book here
With shorter days and cooler nights, Open Studio will now be held on Monday and Thursday mornings 10-1 and Sunday afternoons from April 24th 2-5pm. Spaces can be reserved here.
After so many postponements, I’m also really looking forward to Clay Gulgong this month, so the Bakehouse Studio will be closed from April 9-15 while I’m away.
On May 1, it will be exciting to have the first of our Bakehouse Studio Sunday Talks with expert ceramicist Leonard Smith. Leonard is a Ceramicist with over 50 years experience and a wealth of knowledge about Chinese Tea Bowls. He has travelled extensively throughout China and has a great interest in sustainability and cultural knowledge to share.
Hope you can join us. Places are limited so book your space now. Refreshments will be served and time for questions included.
The next Bakehouse Studio Exhibition is scheduled to coincide with the Inner West Council Midjuburi Trail on the weekend of August 5-6. Expressions of Interest to participate will be sent out in May for work that relates in some way to the Cooks River.
Hope you enjoy the Easter Break. Looking forward to telling you about my adventures in Gulgong.
Cheers
Lisa
