Apmere Mparntwe - The Australian Ceramics Triennale
What a month! Although our whole family bout of Covid meant cancelling our family trip to Uluru, I recovered just in time to get to Apmere Mparntwe - The Australian Ceramics Triennale in Alice Springs. The following week I felt very lucky and very ready to receive the incredible inspiration that came from the amazing Central Desert landscape, local indigenous artists as well as many other Australian and New Zealand ceramicists who came together at the wonderful Araluen Arts Centre that hosted this special event.
Bakehouse Shed Marrickville is about to launch
Mural artist Kelly Wallwork started a great street art mural on Kings Lane last week as wayfinding for the launch of Scott’s Bakehouse Shed on Friday August 12th 5-8pm. Hope you can come!
Edge Creative Trails - Midjuburi Precinct
Work is just about finished for the Cooks River Clay Connections project, to be exhibited initially as part of the Midjuburi Creative Trail of open studios on the weekend of August 13th and 14th 10am -5pm. We will have a group show of studio work by our Bakehouse Studio community of artists opening on the evening of Friday 12th August.

Sunday Night Talk at the Bakehouse
We are delighted to have Iranian artist and PHD candidate Farnaz Dafour speak for our next Bakehouse Artist’s Talk this Sunday August 7th. She will tell us all about her incredible artistic journey navigating her diasporic experiences of making art in other countries. Farnaz was a recent recipient of the Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Scholarship. Book here
