Note from Lisa - down but not out
This month has seen much of the Bakehouse busyness (but not business) come almost to a grinding halt. As a creativity junkie, I’m personally not averse to a bit of social isolation to help me refocus on art and life, however I am missing my Bakehouse Studio community of clay enthusiasts.
As I tried to prepare for all the recent unexpected changes, carport deliveries and pickups of materials and firings accelerated in the lead-up to lock down. It is obviously a matter of spiritual and material life and death to many of us to keep up our dance with clay, thanks to its meaningful and therapeutic role in our lives now. So much so, that today, we began our first online Clay Zoom Ba Online Studio meet. I hadn’t realised how big a part of my life three Open Studios per week had become, so I’m hoping this will go some way towards keeping our small but precious community in touch, online.
On a happy note, last month saw us adopt a beautiful new kitten called Frankie who is positively affecting our household mood. We look forward to her becoming our new studio cat.
