Note from Lisa - Eat, Clay, Love
Lucky me! At the end of May, I got to spend another few days in the country. This time in the Blue Mountains with a rolling cast of lovely creative creatures, all of whom are a big part of the Bakehouse Studio Marrickville in many different ways. We cooked, bush-walked and created to our hearts’ desires, sharing stories, watching Hamilton and generally had a jolly good time. Highlights had to be Mini Ha Ha waterfall and the Katoomba cliff top night walk again to the sound of falling water. Thanks Blaithin, Cally, Connie, Sue, Anne, Diana, Karen and Annelise for coming to share. So sorry you couldn’t make it this time Deb due to your unexpected injury, but you were certainly there in spirit!
This month I’m focussed on getting some of my work ready for a photoshoot to help publicise Artisans in the Garden 2021, an annual exhibition, postponed last year due to Covid and now due to open on October 16 at Lion’s Gate Lodge, Sydney Royal Botanical Gardens. This is another exciting opportunity to create a new large-scale, outdoor , botanically – inspired, ceramic installation, similar but different to the one I created for the 2018 exhibition.
I’m also very happy to be included in another group exhibition to celebrate Spring at Purple Noon Gallery in Freemans Reach in September. These projects will hopefully get me through what already feels like a cold winter.
