Note from Lisa - The Muse of Spring

As lock down intensifies, so does the intensity of daily life. While global and local news offers little joy, thank god for the existence of the imagination and the endless creative possibilities of making. It seems to help that Spring is in the air, bringing with it the beauty of nature in the process of blooming. As flowers begin to pop so does my inner creative world. Perhaps it’s a bit of psychological escapism, but who can resist the Muse of Spring to inspire and create and reimagine something new.

In September and October I am so pleased to be part of two botanical – based exhibitions where I can share my new ceramic work. This work will be an evolution of all my influences over the past 3 years and like an expectant mother, (this time the kiln my womb), every few days is like giving birth. Fear and anxiety mingle with anticipation and excitement. Like any mother, I can’t wait to meet my new babies. And so my ceramic garden grows.

Work can be seen this month in Florescence, at Purple Noon Gallery and next month at Artisans in the Gardens by Foundation and Friends of the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney

Stay Safe,

Lisa
