NEWS from Lisa: A lovely end to Autumn

With my nieces Laura and Anna and grand-nephews Jude and Luca

During the last month of Autumn I enjoyed two lovely weekends away. First a trip to Port Macquarie to see my nieces and meet their beautiful new babies born just 4 weeks apart. The second weekend was spent relaxing on the Hawkesbury River sailing and sleeping over on Dangar Island thanks to friends Jim and Laurel, who I met through Artisans in the Gardens in 2018. Since then, Jim has brought many totems and hanging fish sculptures to the Bakehouse for firing.

Our next Sunday Night Bakehouse Artist talk will be with Kate Dorrough

May  was also spent developing ideas and work for my next ceramics installation and lining up more artists for our recently introduced series of Sunday night Bakehouse Artist Talks. Last Sunday we enjoyed a fascinating talk by Kelly Wallwork who shared her work as set painter, animation artist and more recently collagist and mural artist. Our next talk is scheduled for Sunday July 3rd when local Marrickville artist Kate Dorrough will tell us all about her poetic paintings, ceramics and video installations. If you would like to book your space, you can do so here.
